Silly Atlus… Stop teasing us!

by RPG Mate ~ January 23rd, 2009

???So Atlus USA, you think you can tease us with this image and not telling us what it is. Well, I have news for you. I know what game it is! It looks like Jack Frost, Atlus mascot, disguised as a detective. Therefore, it must be the sequel to Devil Summoner announced a few months ago for the Playstation 2. You played as a detective solving a strange case in the original game and it was an action RPG instead of the traditional turn-based RPG. So, my guess makes some senses. Now, I wonder what would be the English title… Maybe Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon? We will see when Atlus makes it official someday!

Atlus announces Class of Heroes for PSP

by RPG Mate ~ January 20th, 2009

Class of Heroes

Who said that the PSP is dead? I believe the system have a few miles left to release interesting games before his precedessor, the PSP2, comes out.

Want a proof? Atlus USA is still localizing games for this portable console and Class of Heroes is their latest announcement. Developed by ACQUIRE Corp., the game is filled with over five hundred character possibilities, over a thousand items to collect or craft, hundreds of foes to defeat and it will take you over 80 hours to complete it according to the publisher.

If you like dungeon-crawler and first-person view, you will most likely get Class of Heroes. The big plus of this game is that you can save anytime! This feature alone is worth a rent/purchase if you ask me. Too many RPGs on portable consoles doesn’t let you save whenever you want. I, for one, commute every day and I don’t want to miss the bus stop because I had to finish the level/stage in order to save the game. So, I ask every developper to think about this underused feature.

Anyway, the game is out on April 7th. Check out the full trailer and official website. As for me, I will wait because I have some games on my backlog to finish. As many of you, 2008 was too much for me!
